Our story
Great beer, period. Ales and lagers brewed in Illinois, poured at two taprooms, and sent out in draft and cans.
93 Octane Brewery came about from a love of Craft Beer and wanting to make something exceptional for Family and Friends to enjoy. Our goal is to make great Beer, period. We hope to accomplish this by having our dedicated Crew put in the hard work needed to produce the highest quality ales and lagers while also having fun in the process. Our brewer
Alex started home brewing when he was 18 with his father and quickly realized he wanted to become a professional brewer. He passed the Cicerone Exam a few months after his 21st birthday — at the time the youngest ever to obtain that certification. He started at Finch’s Brewing Co. in packaging, then moved to Two Brothers from the packhall all the way to Head Brewer.
He took a sabbatical from Two Brothers and attended the Siebel Institute of Technology, earning the Master Brewer Certification. Through that program he studied at the Doemens Academy in Graefelfing, Germany. At 93 Octane his vision is to brew world-class American and German style beers through innovations in the brewing process he has been developing for the past five years.
Production is scaled in Warrenville so a beer that works on our own taps can go further — more cans, more accounts, more hands. About 20 lines at Elmhurst and at St. Charles. Ask the bar what’s pouring, and find 93 Octane outside the taproom too.
Collaborations
Back the Birds — 4.2% golden ale. Magnum hops, 2-row and Vienna malt. Light, bright, endlessly drinkable.
1857 — juicy Citra and Mosaic. Citrus, tropical fruit, and a gentle sweetness. Supports the Illinois State University Athletic Department.
Hazy IPA bursting with pineapple and passion fruit from Nectaron and Citra hops. 7% ABV. A portion of proceeds benefit Eileen In NFP and inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
